Alphonso Davies has revealed he is “just getting started” at Bayern Munich and sees himself remaining at the club for a very long time.

The 20-year-old is currently out of action after suffering an ankle ligament injury in the 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in October but has been a revelation at left-back since breaking into the team last season.

His form resulted in a nomination for the Golden Boy award, which eventually went to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, and has also raised some questions about his future.

However, the Canadian defender only has eyes for one club for the time being.

Speaking to World Soccer magazine, Davies said: “I want to stay in Germany and with Bayern for as long as possible.

““I arrived in Europe with so many dreams and already Bayern have helped me achieve many of them.

“But I am just getting started – there will be many more.

“Europe is always the ambition for any professional I think, because of the standard.

“I think that there were conversations with one or two other clubs, but Bayern was an easy choice and the right choice.”

Davies provided ten assists as Hansi Flick’s stormed their way to the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League treble in 2019/20.
