According to The Athletic, Bayern Munich wing-back Alphonso Davies has left the Canada National Team and returned to Germany.

Davies suffered a left-leg injury late in the match against the United States about 15 minutes after providing Canada’s only assist in the 1-1 draw.

Canada’s official Twitter account confirmed that he has been ruled out of their third World Cup qualifying match against El Salvador.

It’s unclear whether or not Davies will be ready for Saturday’s match at RB Leipzig or Tuesday’s Champions League opener against Barcelona.

Canada have started their 14-match World Cup qualifying run with a pair of draws against the USMNT and Honduras.
