Almere City have announced that veteran midfielder Tim Receveur has left the club. The 33-year-old had recently extended his deal with the club, but an opportunity came up for the player to leave the Netherlands and join Indonesian side Bali United. Receveur was in his third spell with the Dutch club and is set to leave the country for the first time. Bali is certainly not the worst place to play football during the twilight of ones playing career!
Receveur leaves Dutch football having played for a variety of clubs including VVV Venlo, De Graafshcap, FC Dordrecht and AGOOV Apeldoom during his early career. However, it is at Almere that he has had most of his success. Over three spells the midfielder has played over 180 games for the side, scoring 12 goals. He rejoined the side from Dordrecht during the 2024/2025 campaign but only made four appearances. Almere were relegated from the Eredivisie last season.
Rather than play in the second tier again, Receveur joins Bali United who currently play in the top flight of Indonesian football. Bali finished the 2024/2025 campaign in eight place. Receveur will not be the only Dutch player int he squad, with Thijmen Goppel having moved from Wehen Wiesbaden to the side.
