Almere City have completed the signing of Loïc Mbe Soh from Nottingham Forest. The 22-year-old defender has joined the Eredivisie club on a season-long loan, following a loan spell with EA Guingamp in the French second tier.

Mbe Soh was born in Cameroon and came to France as a child. In 2013 the centre-back was picked up by the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy, where he went on to play 20 times for PSG B. Mbe Soh featured three times for the PSG first team. In 2020, Nottingham Forest paid €5m to bring the player to England. He played 13 first-team games before spending last season on loan in Ligue 2.

Now, Loïc Mbe Soh will spend this season with Almere. Last season, the club were promoted to the Eredivisie for the first time in their history. They’ve kicked off the campaign with three defeats from three games, so hopefully, for their sake, Mbe Soh will slot in and steady things at the back. On Saturday, Almere take on PEC Zwolle at home.
