Max Allegri warns Juventus against thinking of the Coppa Italia Final with Atalanta, as they must ‘prove that we deserve’ victory against Salernitana first.

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

The Bianconeri know a win today will guarantee their Champions League qualification, but it’s something they managed only twice in their last 14 Serie A rounds, coming off five consecutive stalemates.

There is also the pressure to rest players ahead of Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Final against Atalanta in Rome.

“These are always complicated games, because you need to win and earn it on the field. Salernitana are alive and kicking, they did well recently against Atalanta, Lazio and Sassuolo, so we must prove we deserve the victory,” Allegri told DAZN.

“We are aware it could be an important result, but we need to play the game.”

Federico Chiesa and Kenan Yildiz are not fully fit after a stomach bug, while there are changes in defence with Daniele Rugani starting. Is this a dress rehearsal for the Coppa Italia clash?

“Today is certainly not a dress rehearsal for Wednesday. Danilo and Alex Sandro should be available for Wednesday, the others are more than reliable and we need to focus on today’s game.”

Juventus ultras have pledged to stage a protest against what they claim are limitations on their banners in the Allianz Arena, so it could be a more quiet atmosphere than usual.

“We must inspire the crowd and try to play well, but as I said, it won’t be easy because Salernitana have a point to prove,” concluded Allegri.
