Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has addressed the media ahead of his side’s clash with Salernitana on Sunday.
This is the best of what he had to say.
“Leandro Paredes will play tomorrow because [Manuel] Locatelli is a little fatigued so he needs a rest. Ángel Di María is also unavailable but he should hopefully be back on Wednesday.
“Federico Chiesa is back training on the pitch but isn’t training with the team yet. Wojciech Szczęsny is also still out.”
“I know that there is a great desire from the squad to work hard and get back to winning, even if it isn’t easy. We’ve been lacking important players from the beginning of the season.
“Given the numerical difficulties, we need to get to November and the break in the highest possible position.
“If you take players like Di María, Chiesa, [Paul] Pogba away, then we must be happy with what we are doing knowing the prospects will be better when they return.”
“He didn’t do so well against Fiorentina but he did play well against PSG. He’s much better when he plays on the left.”
“We’re trying to help him and he’s improving but it is also a question of the characteristics. The other day, someone mentioned how he has the same number of touches this season as Erling Haaland. Dušan is a centre forward and must score goals but I’m happy with him.
“I don’t know if we will use [Arkadiusz] Milik together with him up front tomorrow but there will be changes.”
“I hope to have him back before the break for the World Cup. There’s a month left and he has been working hard on the field alone.
“We hope to have him with the team as soon as possible.”
