Massimiliano Allegri has been heavily criticised by Italian sports papers following a 1-0 home defeat against Udinese on Monday and Gazzetta notes that a tactical decision in the second half ‘contributed to increasing confusion.’

Juventus have lost two Serie A games in a row, collecting just one point in the last three matches.

Monday’s home defeat against strugglers Udinese, the first one at the Allianz Stadium in 2023-24, has pushed the Bianconeri seven points below table leaders Inter who also have a game in hand.

Allegri was blamed by Italian sports papers on Tuesday and La Gazzetta dello Sport was particularly critical of the Livorno-born tactician.

The pink paper rated Allegri 4/10 saying that Juventus seemed “slow and unmotivated” on Monday.

Allegri was accused of “increasing confusion” in the second half when he switched to a 4-3-3 formation with “players out of position” who didn’t produce a single shot on target in the second half.

Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport were softer with the Italian tactician, rating him 5/10, but both papers confirmed that the Bianconeri had not shown enough ideas to beat Udinese.
