“We’re working well for now, but everything looks good until the games begin. It’s when the games start that it counts,” the Italian tactician said via TMW.

“We’ve begun the season, and we are preparing in the best way possible. We know the difficulties we face, but above all, we know how important this season is. I’m very happy.”

Milan were the first Serie A team to begin pre-season preparation on July 7 (same as Genoa) and Allegri was unveiled as the new Rossoneri boss on the same day.

Allegri has signed a two-year deal at San Siro.

“When Tare first called me and when I met with Furlani, the foundation for working together was already being laid,” he continued.

“I’m very happy about that. Coming to Milan is fantastic for me, I’m very enthusiastic. There’s a lot of work to do. Right now, there’s strong unity of purpose and a shared approach in the day-to-day work. This is important to provide a clear direction to everyone working at Milan. We are in one of the top clubs in the world, and we must have deep respect for that.

“We can only earn respect by working with professionalism and delivering results.”

Allegri has already won the Serie A title at Milan during his first season at the club.

He was sacked by the Rossoneri in January 2014, just a few months before starting a winning cycle at Juventus, where he won the Scudetto for five seasons in a row.

Allegri led Juventus to winning the Coppa Italia in 2023-24 before being sacked by the Old Lady.

The Rossoneri formally begin the 2025-26 campaign with a Coppa Italia match against Bari on August 17.
