Everton will entertain Aston Villa at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon as they look to bounce back by securing a positive result at home following the sacking of Rafael Benitez earlier this month. The Toffees suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Norwich City last weekend. Hence, the confidence of the Everton players will be quite fragile ahead of this important contest in the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit will set themselves up in a 4-3-3 formation and are expected to make one change for this game. Allan will probably play from the start if he is available for this clash while Salomon Rondon makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for the Toffees after he shipped in two goals in his last league outing. Michael Keane will once again function alongside Ben Godfrey at the heart of the Everton backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Seamus Coleman will play at right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko looks to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join on the attack as they can’t afford to leave too much space behind them out on the wide areas.

Mason Holgate will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Allan is currently recovering from an illness and will be in a race against time to be fit for this game. We can expect the Brazilian talent to play along with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes at the centre of the park as they look to put in a hard-working performance collectively this weekend.

Tom Davies is still sidelined due to a thigh injury but Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Attack

Demarai Gray could get the nod to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player while Anthony Gordon earns another start on the right flank. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the line for the Toffees down the middle. The English striker will carry most of the goal-scoring burden on his own up top.

Richarlison and Salomon Rondon will have to be content with a place on the bench but they might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
