Another season is underway and the Champions League group stage draw is upon us …

When is it?

The ceremony will begin at 18:00 CET (17:00 in the UK) on Thursday 31 August and will be held in Monaco.


What’s it all about?

Being crowned champions of Europe, obviously!

More specifically, Thursday is about finding out who will play who in the group stage in the 2023/24 season, with 32 teams set to be split into eight groups of four.

How will the groups look?

As ever, groups will consist of one team from each pot, with no team able to face an opponent from the same country.


When do the games actually begin?

The group stage matchdays will take place on:

  • 19/20 September
  • 3/4 October
  • 24/25 October
  • 7/8 November
  • 28/29 November
  • 12/13 December

And what about the UEFA awards?

Of course, we almost forgot!

Awards will be handed out to both the men’s and the women’s Player and Coach of the Year for 2022/23.
