Huddersfield Town host Hull City this afternoon in the Sky Bet Championship.

Both sides headed into the October international break with a little bit of momentum and positive results under their belt. Carlos Corberan watched Huddersfield beat Blackburn Rovers and draw with Luton Town, whilst Grant McCann picked up a point against Blackpool before beating Middlesbrough.

Today, then, the task is to pick up where they left off after a two-week break.

In terms of the home side, they are nearly at full strength in terms of their playing squad. We run you through their team news here:

Jonathan Hogg

Hogg missed the Blackburn and Luton games through an abdominal injury.

The club captain has been a consistent figure in the midfield since Corberan’s appointment and, thankfully, has managed to return to training over the course of the international break.

He could return against Hull.

Levi Colwill

Like Hogg, Colwill missed the Blackburn win and Luton draw. He had an ankle injury, which also denied him the chance to link up with England’s youth teams over the international break.

The Chelsea loanee has managed to get himself right and back onto the training fields since then.

His situation is like Hogg’s. He’s back in training and available to play Hull this afternoon.

Vallejo stepped into the side and replaced Hogg against Blackburn, even opening the scoring with a fizzing drive from the edge of the penalty area.

However, he picked up a knee injury early in the second-half and remains absent with that problem.

Although it is not thought to be serious, Vallejo will miss the clash with Hull and it isn’t clear when he will be 100% ready to return.

Mipo Odubeko

Over the international break, the plan was for Odubeko to play minutes with the Huddersfield B Team. However, illness denied him that opportunity and it isn’t clear whether or not he will be in the squad this afternoon against Hull.

Danny Ward and Fraizer Campbell are more likely contenders to lead the line.

Pipa

Pipa had groin surgery early in the season in a bid to put a long running issue behind him.

He’s on the road to recovery and expected to return to full training next month.

Jordan Rhodes

Rhodes’ return to Huddersfield has been hampered by a back injury.

The striker was facing a three-month absence and is slowly taking the necessary steps to getting himself back out on the pitch.

It’s expected that Rhodes will be out until later in 2021.

Aaron Rowe

Rowe has had a couple of issues in his recovery following a toe injury and remains on the sidelines heading into this weekend.

Like Pipa and Rhodes, it’s not clear when he’s going to be available to Corberan.

Ryan Schofield

Schofield has a back injury and Huddersfield are taking the cautious route as they patch the goalkeeper up to get him back into contention.

Lee Nicholls, though, is doing a fine job as the club’s No.1, making sure that Schofield’s absence isn’t felt at all.
