West Ham shock Tottenham in London derby

This season just won’t stop with the ridiculous storylines.

The Hammers were 3-0 down with eight minutes to go after Harry Kane and Son Heung-min had run rings around David Moyes’ men in the first half.

But a FabiĂĄn Balbuena header set off a sequence of events that culminated with a stunning Manuel Lanzini equaliser at the death.

Madness!

Aston Villa’s dream start continues at Leicester

It’s hard to top beating defending champions Liverpool 7-2, but a last-gasp 1-0 win over Leicester will do nicely as an apĂ©ritif for Aston Villa.

It looked all set for a stalemate at the King Power Stadium until Ross Barkley’s terrific shot from distance beat Kasper Schmeichel in the Foxes’ goal just seconds into the minimum of four minutes stoppage time.

The victory leaves the Villans as the only team in the league still with a 100% record, while Leicester will be left ruing the crucial dropped points.

Brighton rescue point at Palace

Crystal Palace held the lead for just over 70 minutes of this game before letting all three points slip from their grasp.

Wilfried Zaha put the Eagles ahead from the spot in the first-half, and they thought they had doubled their lead after the break until a VAR check deemed Michy Batshuayi had been offside before blasting to the net.

In keeping with the theme of the weekend, there was a crazy finish at Selhurst Park.

Alexis Mac Allister levelled for the Seagulls in the 90th minute – courtesy of a wicked deflection – before Brighton captain Lewis Dunk decided to do his best Jordan Pickford impression by lunging two-footed at Gary Cahill.

Spoils shared as Sheffield deny Fulham first victory

A game that both sides will feel they should have won, while simultaneously being relieved they didn’t lose.

Aleksandar Mitrović won’t forget it for sure. He missed a spot-kick before conceding the penalty that allowed Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp to equalise late on.

Ademola Lookman’s superb individual goal had put Fulham on course for their first win of the season, but the two sides had to settle for their first points of the campaign.

Honours even, then, in what had all the hallmarks of an early relegation six-pointer.

After quite the weekend of action, there’s more to come on Monday when West Brom entertain Burnley and Leeds take on Wolves.
