One Chelsea player has been explaining why there has been some decent progress at the club this season as they currently sit in joint second place in the Premier League.
Things have gone from pretty good to very good for Enzo Maresca and his Chelsea side this season in the thirteen games played so far, and I don’t think not one single person would have predicted that Chelsea were in the current position they are in right now as we enter December. Most people had written off Chelsea’s chances entirely at the start of the season, but they have all been changing their most recent stances.
Chelsea are proving that they are serious again, and the improvements and progression has been clear to see.
One thing that I believe has been a key and played a massive part, other than the new head coach of course, is the togetherness that this squad seems to have. It’s something I have not seen in other recent Chelsea teams for sometime now, and it can go a long way.
Great team spirit
Speaking to the Chelsea website this week, defender Tosin Adarabioyo says:
“We’ve got a very talented squad and it’s great we can swap players in and out of the team. Squad depth is very important. We are going to need everybody in this run of games. You can swap players in or out and you’re getting a high performance with each line-up. It’s great to have that.”
“The squad is amazing, to be honest with you. All the boys are really close together and everyone is supporting each other.
“This festive period is always the busier time of the season, but we’ve got the squad to make sure we’ve always got a high-quality starting XI and can bring on really strong subs. Hopefully it pays off for us.”
