All Serie A games postponed today

Serie A have confirmed that there will be no games played today after the tragic death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori.

The news was relayed from the club’s official Twitter account on Sunday that the 31-year-old had unexpectedly died in his sleep.

The Viola were due to take on Udinese this afternoon, but that was immediately called off following the confirmation of the midfielder’s passing.

And the league have just revealed that the rest of Sunday’s fixtures will also be postponed.

Seven matches were due to be played today, including the Milan derby this evening.

There is no news yet as to when those games will be rescheduled for.
