Ryan Sessegnon backs Scott Parker to become next Tottenham manager

Speaking to talkSPORT (h/t London Football News), Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ryan Sessegnon, who is currently out on loan at TSG Hoffenheim, has backed Scott Parker to become the next manager of the club.

Tottenham are on the lookout for a new manager after Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties by Daniel Levy last month. Ex-midfielder Ryan Mason has taken over the reins on an interim basis till the end of the season as the club searches for a replacement on a full-time basis.

Of late, Parker’s name has been doing the rounds, given his past association with Tottenham along with the job that he has done at Fulham so far. And Sessegnon, who worked with Parker during the 2018/19 campaign at Fulham, before signing for Spurs in 2019, has thrown his weight beyond the 40-year-old’s candidacy. (h/t London Football News)

“That would be very good! Everyone knows the relationship I have with Scott. He’s a top guy, top man and a top coach. He’s just an all-round great guy. I played with him in his last season I think in professional football and my first. He’s someone that has obviously always believed in me as well. “They [Fulham] have got fantastic results against some of the big teams where other teams wouldn’t have thought they would get those type of points. Scott has got them playing the right type of football; that’s what I admire about him.”

Parker has done some admirable things during his time at Tottenham. However, the fact that he is still in his first managerial job and lacks the experience at this level is something that may count against him.

Apart from Sessegnon, Parker is said to have an admirer in Tottenham chief Daniel Levy as well. It now remains to be seen whether this leads to him becoming the next Spurs boss.
