The summer transfer window is well underway as two more Serie A transfers were made official today, namely Lazio’s capture of Nuno Tavares from Arsenal, and goalkeeper Zion Suzuki’s arrival at newly-promoted Parma.
On top of the confirmed transfers, there were also some major developments in transfer talks with a number of Serie A targets on July 15. Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are among the key potential movers.
In terms of done deals, Nuno Tavares officially joined Lazio on loan with an option to buy included as part of the deal. The buy option will become mandatory if certain sporting conditions are met.
In the event that Lazio do make Tavares’s move permanent, they will have to pay Arsenal a reported fee of €6m, and have already agreed the terms of a contract until 2029 with the player should that happen.
Elsewhere, 2023-24 Serie B champions Parma have officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Zion Suzuki on a permanent transfer from Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden.
The highly-rated 21-year-old, who was born in the United States to Ghanaian and Japanese parents, has penned a five-year deal, which will run until the summer of 2029. The total cost of the deal, including bonuses, amounts to around €10m.
In terms of potential transfers, there was major progress in Milan’s talks with Atletico Madrid for Alvaro Morata today. The Rossoneri are now expected to pay the striker’s €13m release clause and hand him a four-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.
Victor Osimhen’s agent was in Paris for talks with representatives from PSG today as well. Napoli have reportedly been offered a selection of potential players who could be included in a potential player-plus-cash offer.
And Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic looks set for a new chapter in the Premier League, as his move to Nottingham Forest is expected to be finalised on Tuesday.
