Gent have announced the signing of 23-year-old Senegalese defender Noah Fadiga. The player joins on a free after he was made a free agent by the French FA following medical tests which found a irregular heart beat. However, after further testing by cardiologist Pedro Brugada, Fadiga was given the green light to continue his career. Fadiga now returns to the side where he spent some time as a youth player. The defender is also the son of Khalilou Fadiga who played for the Buffaloes during the 2007/2008 season.

Fadiga only joined Stade Brest last summer from Heracles, going on to make 22 appearances and scoring one goal. After leaving the Gent youth set-up, Fadiga ended up at Club Brugge, but never made an appearance for the senior side. Instead, he moved to the Netherlands and joined FC Volendam, making 25 appearances for the side. He then moved on to Heracles where he played over 50 games, scoring once and providing two assists.

Fadiga is eligible for both Senegal and Belgium, but has opted for the former. His father played over 30 games for the Lions of Teranga. The defender has signed a 3-year-deal with Gent.
