Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker posted an injury update on Instagram after missing the Reds’ 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

Liverpool beat Bournemouth on Saturday at Anfield but had to do so without Alisson Becker. The goalkeeper was a surprise absence after an injury kept him out of the squad.

The Reds went on to win 3-0, of course, and Caoimhin Kelleher produced one magnificent save to keep a clean sheet. Alisson, though, will be right back into the XI once he's fit - but when will that be?

Well, the Brazilian posted an injury update of sorts on Instagram late on Saturday evening. While watching some football, we got Alisson's POV - and that was him sitting on his sofa with a medical device on his legs.

The device essentially helps circulate the blood in Alisson's legs, hopefully boosting recovery in the muscle. That will be the hope, anyway - Liverpool will want him back ASAP.

But this is one of those that definitely looks more alarming than it actually is. Liverpool will have this one under control and Arne Slot didn't make it sound like a serious injury ahead of the meeting with Bournemouth.

Fingers crossed, then, that all goes according to plan and Alisson is back playing before long.

Alisson Becker injury

Alisson is arguably the world's best goalkeeper but there's no question that his injury record leaves a lot to be desired. The Brazilian misses several games per season and honestly, that's the sole reason the Reds have kept Caoimhin Kelleher happy.

The Irishman knows he'll get a good chunk of games every season, with Kelleher having stood between the sticks for months at the start of this year. Once again, he's in for Premier League games and will almost certainly start against West Ham United as planned, too.

But with Giorgi Mamardashvili on his way - and thriving at Valencia - Alisson's injury record will come under intense scrutiny at the end of this campaign.
