The Borussia Dortmund women's handball team have signed Germany international Alicia Stolle for the 2023/24 season. The left-hander returns to BVB, where she previously played at youth level, from top Hungarian club FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria. She has signed a contract until 30/06/2025.

The 26-year-old left Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and enjoyed spells with HSG Blomberg-Lippe and Thüringer HC before moving to Hungary. "After three years abroad, it's time for me to come home. At the same time, I'd like to continue playing handball at a high international level. I can combine those very well in Dortmund," said Stolle. "I have very good memories of BVB. I came to Dortmund at the age of 15 and was quickly able to gain experience at A-youth and senior levels." Sporting director Andreas Kuno continued: "In Alicia Stolle, we've signed a top-class player for the left-handed positions at the back of the court. It's enormously important for us that we have a player in the squad who can also score goals from long range." The deputy head of department Rupert Thiele added: "Alicia's profile makes her a very good fit for our squad. She can also cover in the central block and offers us additional options in that regard. With her qualities, she also makes us tactically more flexible going forward. We're very happy about her decision to play for BVB again."
