Algeria confirm Bennacer has sustained an injury in training – the latest | OneFootball

Ismael Bennacer is currently on international duty with Algerian but he won’t be taking part in the game against Liberia on Tuesday. As confirmed by the Algerian national team, he sustained an injury in training and has been left out.

The last few weeks have been rather strange for Bennacer as he was left out of the games against Parma and Lazio due to a potential move. The latter never occurred and he’s now back in Paulo Fonseca’s rotation, but the manager might have to wait.

As confirmed by the Algerian national team, via MilanEye, Bennacer sustained an injury while in training this morning and has been left out of the squad for the Liberia game. Most likely, he will return to Milanello immediately to be assessed further.

Bennacer played 78 minutes in the 2-0 win against Equatorial Guinea earlier this week and not having him available for the next game is a blow for Algeria. Milan will be hoping that it isn’t anything serious as they have some tough games coming up, including Liverpool and Inter.

Fonseca doesn’t lack options in the tandem as things stand but many would like to see Tijjani Reijnders in the No.10 role, but the manager might be hesitant to do this without Bennacer.
