Inter wingback Ivan Perisic has not agreed to join any clubs at the end of his current season, and extending his deal is a priority for the Nerazzurri.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported on the 33-year-old’s situation on Gazzetta.it and explained that it will come down to whether the player is ready to accept an offer from Inter or hold firm in his demands.

Perisic has been one of the outstanding players not just for Inter but in all of Serie A this season, and the question of whether he will stay at the club beyond the end of his current contract has become a hot topic.

The Croat has yet to reach an agreement with the club on a new deal, while his words after the Coppa Italia final last week strongly suggested that he is dissatisfied that the talks have dragged on as long as they have.

However, according to Pedulla, everything remains open as far as Perisic’s situation, and the Nerazzurri will do everything within their power to keep a hold of him.

“Ivan hasn’t reached an agreement with any other clubs,” Pedulla reports, “he’ll speak with other teams only when there is clarity on his future at Inter one way or the other.”

“Marotta and Ausilio will try to find a solution, and consider Perisic an essential pillar to the team even despite having signed Gosens in January,” he adds

“But they will not budged one millimetre from their strategy, which is coherent,” he clarifies, “if the Croatian is to stand firm on his request for €6 million they will respect his desire but they won’t meet him there.”
