After their dismal 4-1 defeat at rivals América over the weekend, Chivas are currently all the way down in 17th place in the Liga MX table, six points out of the Liguilla places.
In addition, Chivas continue to be second-bottom in the relegation table only above Veracruz, who extended their winless run to 38 games over the weekend.
Alexis Vega isn’t exactly sure why Chivas have not been able to be successful but is willing to put the blame on him and his team-mates.
“With Boy, Coyote, and with Cardozo, we at the club have not shown our best version of ourselves.
“We are responsible. People are tired of so many words and I say it without fear: if we all have to go, we must go.
“We have not known how to play as we have been asked and we are the only ones who have not known how to take the next step forward.”
Vega also discussed the aftermath of Antonio Briseño’s unfortunate tackle on Giovani dos Santos, claiming that Briseño has been very emotionally affected by his actions.
“Pollo (Briseño) is very sad since we left Mexico City. He hasn’t been the same since he arrived.
“We talk to him every day. We are all exposed to such an injury and we know there was no bad intention. I’m also sorry for Gio who was coming off an injury.”
Chivas will have a chance to win their first match under Luis Fernando Tena tonight when they face Correcaminos in a vital Copa MX clash.
