New Guadalajara striker Alexis Vega has reiterated his desire to be called up to the Mexican national team and believes his move can help achieve that goal.
The 21-year-old left Toluca earlier this month to join Chivas and is confident playing for a ‘bigger’ side will see him join up with El Tri.
“As with every player, if I work hard I hope to have the call,” he told reporters.
“I know that being at Chivas means there’s more opportunity.”
Vega also insisted he’s putting no pressure on himself to be top goalscorer next season.
“It is not an obligation to get the scoring title.
“I want to do well for the team, and if that means assisting goals, then great.”
