Alexis Sanchez has shared his delight having joined Inter and discussed a series of other topics in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.
“Inter is a great team. When I was at Udinese, the Nerazzurri won the treble and at that time for me they were the biggest team in Italy. Playing against them was very difficult. I am very happy to be back in Serie A. I am here to win something,” he started the interview.
The Chilean then spoke on his relationship with Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku, who he knows from Manchester United.
“Romelu is a very good player. He is my friend and we talk every day. You can see that he is happy to be at Inter and he always wants to win. He convinced me to come to Inter. The team is very much united and this is important if you want to win. The fans have not seen the team win anything for many years so there is great hunger to win.”
He then reflected on his disaster spell with Manchester United.
“It was not the right time to go there, but I do not regret it. United is focusing on young players, they want to grow to and back like they were in the times of Sir Alex Ferguson.”
Sanchez will get to face two of his former clubs in the coming weeks in the shape of Udinese and Barcelona and he discussed this.
“It will be nice to face Udinese. My heart is in Udine. Barcelona is a great team. It will be hard against them but I like playing against them.”
He concluded by revealing that former Inter and Chile player Ivan Zamorano has been in touch: “He called me and told me all about his love for this club.”
