Alexis Sanchez is believed to be close to a move to Marseille where he would link up with Matteo Guendouzi and Nuno Tavares who has just joined on loan as he agrees a contract termination with Inter Milan.

Inter Milan have wanted rid of Alexis Sanchez for a while now, and the forward has endured something of a torrid time in his career since forcing his way out of Arsenal to join Manchester United.

The Chilean signed for the Italians on a free transfer in 2020 but has scored just 20 goals, with 23 assists, in 108 games (a goal or assist every 2.5 games).

That’s certainly a better return than his five goals, and nine assists, in 45 games for United (a goal or assist every 3.2 games), but is some distance from the 80, with 45 assists, he scored at Arsenal in 166 games (a goal or assist every 1.3 games).

Offered to Everton at the end of 2021 for free, it seems like Marseille will be the forward’s next destination as he closes in on an agreement to cancel his Inter Milan contract for a fee of around €4.5m.

Alexis is now 33 and valued at around £3.15m. He will reportedly sign a two-year deal in France.
