Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is attracting a large amount of interest and his father reveals “clubs are starting to call” him as the summer transfer window approaches.

“Clubs are starting to call us for Alexis but there are no concrete talks now,” Carlos Mac Allister told ESPN.

“We’ll decide together with Brighton, they deserve respect. We will pick the best project, based on the coach too, it’s not about money.”

Mac Allister’s profile has risen dramatically following his World Cup heroics as he was part of the Argentina side that won the World Cup in Qatar last year.

The 24-year-old has scored nine goals for Brighton this season whilst providing two assists as the Seagulls fly high in seventh, level on points with Liverpool in sixth.

Should Brighton achieve a top six finish, the chances to keep Mac Allister certainly increase as their financial position strengthens with a possible Europa League campaign on the horizon.

The South coast club were keen to hold onto Moisés Caicedo in the winter transfer window as they rejected a £70m bid from Arsenal which indicates their unwillingness to let their prize assets leave on the cheap.
