Alexander Isak was touted as the ‘next Zlatan Ibrahimović’ by many around him and the media, but struggled to make an immediate impact when he signed for Dortmund two-and-a-half years ago at age 17.

However, Isak has been an Eredivisie star in the second half of this season, as he’s scored 12 goals in 14 games while on loan at Willem II.

Now, the six-foot-three-inch believes he will soon be able to make a huge influence with his parent club.

“I believe in [making my breakthrough] at Dortmund,” Isak told Swedish newspaper Expressen.

“I’ve put on good performances here [at Willem II] and they’re satisfied with what I’ve been doing.

“I know there’s interest in me, but I have a contract with Dortmund.”

In 13 career appearances with the Dortmund first-team, Isak has contributed a goal and an assist.
