Alexander Isak alternative communicates salary demands to Liverpool

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes very much remains the centre of attention for those keeping an eye on the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu. After Xabi Alonso once again neglected to use him in their La Liga opener, preferring Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, Franco Mastantuono and Gonzalo Garcia over him, rumours about his future continue.

There have been a string of reports in the capital claiming that Rodrygo is happy at the capital club, and Los Blancos are content with him. Yet those are contradicted by the vast majority of reporting, and his situation on the pitch would seem to suggest that he is more likely to be on the way out.

Agent communicates salary demands to Liverpool

It was reported earlier this week that agent Pini Zahavi, who is working with Rodrygo and his father and agent Eric Goes, landed in England for talks with Liverpool and Arsenal. Zahavi was also present at Anfield to see Liverpool’s season opening win against Bournemouth.

According to Football Insider, Zahavi has now communicated Rodrygo’s salary demands to Liverpool. The Brazilian would want to earn between €230k and €290k per week, or €12-15m per annum. That is thought to be roughly what he is earning at the Bernabeu.

Liverpool still pursuing Alexander Isak first

Rodrygo can include Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City among the sides interested in him, but his major issues is that he is not first choice for any of them. City will only move for him if Savio Moreira leaves, and it appears they are keen to keep him. Arsenal are on the verge of signing Eberechi Eze, and Liverpool remain focused on signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Unless those equations change, Rodrygo may have to scramble for an alternate option, or accept a reduced role at Real Madrid this season. It has been Zahavi who has organised the meetings with Arsenal and Liverpool, rather than vice versa.
