Alex Iwobi signs new long-term Arsenal contract

Arsenal academy graduate Alex Iwobi has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with the club.

The Nigeria international, who appeared in Russia at the World Cup, has scored nine goals in 98 appearances for the club having come through the ranks.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery said: “I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us. He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

The 22-year-old has been tentatively linked to Lazio this summer but has now committed his future to the north London club.
