Alessio Romagnoli is finally set to sign for Lazio, agreeing to a five-year contract with the club.

The Biancocelesti have been in talks with the 27-year-old Italian centre-back for months now, desperate to secure his services on a free transfer, and a move to Rome did seem likely, despite the interest of multiple Premier League clubs.

As reported by the major Italian sports papers (via LazioNews24), Romagnoli has agreed to sign a five-year contract with Lazio, which contains an option for a sixth year, worth around €2.8 million net per season plus add-ons.

Coach Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito increased the intensity of the talks on Saturday night, hoping to finalise a deal ahead of the pre-season training camp later this week.

The Lazio president is now hoping to fully finalise everything in time for this evening’s kit reveal at Piazza del Popolo, where he hopes to unveil the former Milan captain.

Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief following this agreement and many are excited to see what Romagnoli can do with his boyhood club.
