Italian coach Alessandro Calori may replace Leonardo Menichini as the head coach of the Lazio Primavera squad.

As reported by Italian journalist Valerio Alessandro Cassetta on Twitter earlier today, the 54-year-old Italian may be brought in this summer to replace the 67-year-old Menichini, who massively disappointed this campaign with the Primavera squad.

The Biancocelesti finished 15th in the Campionato Primavera 1 this campaign, only one place above the bottom, being 13 points ahead of last place Ascoli.

Calori is a name that will put a smile on the face of Lazio fans – the goal he scored on a rainy afternoon in Perugia against Juventus on the final day of the season in 2000 secured the Scudetto for Lazio, and so he is a much-believed figure in half of the Italian capital.

The 54-year-old Calori may take over from Menichini in the next few days. He most recently coached Serie C side Ternana Calcio in 2019, and has experience with Trapani and Brescia.
