Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni discussed his dreams whilst at Inter and his life off the pitch in an interview in today’s print edition of the Match Day Programme, ahead of the Nerazzurri’s league clash against Parma this afternoon. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“I am an Inter fan and to think that in the future I might be able to wear the captain’s armband is a dream, I would be really proud. It would be an honor.”

The 21-year-old Italian defender highlighted another dream of his and the first football shirt that he purchased.

“To win with this shirt. I will try to give my contribution every time I take to the pitch. The first shirt I bought was mine. No, that’s not true. The first one was that of Milito, I was 13 years old.”

Finally, Bastoni commented on his life off the pitch and his friends in the squad.

“For an all-inclusive vacation I would definitely leave with three teammates, or rather three friends, Barella, Skriniar and Brozovic, so I can beat them at darts.

“I was a guest of Andrea Boccelli, he sang ‘Vivo per lei’. It was an incredible emotion, his music keeps me company, some songs are linked to particular moments of my life.”

The 21-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, recovered from Covid-19 last week, returning to the squad.

The player played a full 90 minutes against Genoa last weekend and performed well, impressing despite having little time to train and regain fitness.

Bastoni became a first team regular under Conte last season, often displacing Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin in the starting 11.

He has provided one assist so far this season, against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.
