Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrović has been a changed man since leaving Newcastle, scoring at a rate of about once every two games for both club and country.
The 26-year-old Serbian hitman still has a love for the Magpies faithful, though he has recently revealed his regret over his underwhelming performances, which led him to be stuck behind both Dwight Gayle and Joselu.
“I didn’t play as much as I wanted,” the Fulham striker told Premier League World.
“I didn’t score as many goals as I wanted but, in the end, I made so many friends there.
“The supporters there in the stadium, everything, the city are so lovely. The people are always so kind. It’s hard as well when it’s not going well.
“It’s a tough place to play with a lot of pressure but it’s a really massive club.”
All in all, Mitrović bagged 17 goals and dished out 10 assists in 72 games for Newcastle before being shipped off to Craven Cottage in a £22m deal which could rise to £27m.
