Aleksandar Kolarov is set to terminate his contract with Inter soon, but he will not join the coaching staff at the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old will either move to a new club or retire from football altogether when he leaves the Nerazzurri.

Kolarov has barely featured for Inter this season, with injury setbacks making it difficult for him to find any fitness and form.

The Serbian defender is expected to terminate his Inter contract by mutual consent, though what he decides to do from that point on remains to be seen.

It had been reported that a stay at Inter as part of the coaching staff had been a possibility for the Serb, but this now looks unlikely.

Kolarov joined Inter in the summer of 2020, and has been an influential figure in the dressing room despite playing relatively infrequently.
