Kristjan Asllani admits that the Champions League second leg against Barcelona is “the most important match of the season” for Inter Milan.
The Albanian gave his thoughts to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after this evening’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona.
Inter Milan took on Hellas Verona in Serie A this evening. They got a win that just about keeps their title hopes alive.
However, there is little doubt that the Nerazzurri will have been preoccupied by the matches that they’ve been playing either side of tonight’s league outing.
On Wednesday, Inter played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. And that was just the first leg of the tie.
This coming Tuesday, the Nerazzurri host the Blaugranas for the second leg.
And after the first leg result and performance, Inter will feel that there is every chance that they can book their place in the final.
That would be the second Champions League final in the space of just three seasons for Inter.

After today’s match against Hellas Verona, Kristjan Asllani said that “we all have to work together.”
“We’re a strong team,” he said. “On and off the pitch.”
“There’s no problem no matter who who plays or who doesn’t.”
“We’re a great group,” the 23-year-old added. “And we’re all happy.”
Then, Asllani said of the upcoming Champions League semifinal second leg that “Tuesday is the most important match of the season for us I think.”
After today’s match against Verona, Kristjan Asllani said that “going all the way in all competitions was our goal.”
“We didn’t manage to do that. Because we went out of the Coppa Italia, and we’ve also dropped points in the league.”
“But you never know what will happen in football,” added Asllani.
“There are three matches left. And we have a great desire to reach the Champions League final.”
“We all know what that would mean,” the Albanian concluded.
