Midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that he’s “grown up” at Inter Milan, but still has a lot to improve on in his game.

The 22-year-old spoke to InterTV after signing his new contract with the Nerazzurri yesterday, via FCInterNews.

Asllani has committed his long-term future to Inter by signing a contract extension until the end of June 2028.

The Nerazzurri, by the same token, have shown their faith in the young Italian international.

Asllani is in his third season as an Inter player.

During his time at the club so far, the 22-year-old has made 63 appearances in total.

The majority of these have come from the bench. That is a testament to the fact that Asllani has always been more of an understudy at Inter – first to Marcelo Brozovic, and now to Hakan Calhanoglu.

But this season, Asllani has already made one start for Inter. That came against Monza over the weekend.

And there is a sense that the Albanian will make quite a few more over the long season.

Kristjan Asllani: “I’ve Grown Up A Lot At Inter Milan”

Asllani signed for Inter from Empoli in the summer of 2022.

The Albanian reflected, “I’ve definitely grown up, when I arrived I was twenty years old.”

“I was just a kid,” Asllani said.

“Now I’m almost 23. And I’ve definitely grown a lot mentally, including off the pitch.”

Asllani said that “It means a lot to have top players alongside me, who help me every day in training.”

“But I’ve grown in a lot of ways.”

As far as his goals, Asllani said that “On a personal level I want to grow and improve every day.”

“I’m still 22 years old,” the Inter midfielder noted. “So I have a lot of things to improve on, and I know that well.”

“On a team level, when you’re at Inter you have to win as much as possible,” Asllani continued. “Win trophies.”

Asllani is also a lifelong Inter supporter. “For me it’s always been a dream to play for this team,” he said.

“It’s an honour to play for this shirt.”

Asllanmi said that “This contract extension is a source of pride.”

“But I take it as a starting point for the things I have to grow and improve on.”
