Kristjan Asllani and Marko Arnautovic stood out for Inter Milan against Udinese, while Tajon Buchanan failed to impress.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi made sweeping changes to his starting eleven against Udinese yesterday.

That meant that there were opportunities for a number of players who rarely start.

These included goalkeeper Josep Martinez, who made his Inter debut. And wingback Tajon Buchanan, who started a match for the Nerazzurri for the first time nearly twelve months after his arrival.

Asllani & Arnautovic Shine For Inter Vs Udinese – Buchanan Fails To Impress

In the view of the Gazzetta, two players above all proved their worth to Inter yesterday.

Both midfielder Kristjan Asllani and striker Marko Arnautovic got on the scoresheet.

However, the Gazzetta argues, there was far more to the pair’s performances than just their goals.

Asllani gave one of his more convincing displays in central midfield. He showed that Inter can find their rhythm in and out of possession even when Hakan Calhanoglu isn’t playing.

Meanwhile, from Arnautovic it was a battling performance up front.

The Austrian international never gave Udinese defender Jaka Bijol a moment’s peace, and his goal was a reward for his tireless effort making attacking runs.

On the other hand, Canadian international Tajon Buchanan cut an anonymous figure in his first start for Inter.

Buchanan had a couple of bright moments early on. But after that he never used his pace and technical ability to good effect on either the right or the left flank.
