Deportivo Alavés have on Saturday secured reinforcements to the club’s attacking ranks, courtesy of La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.
The player to have linked up with the former for the season ahead? Carlos Martín.
Frontman Martín, for his part, is fresh off an altogether impressive loan spell away from parent club Atlético in 2023/24.
Making the move to the Spanish 2nd tier with CD Mirandés, the 22-year-old shone bright, to the tune of 15 goals and three assists in 40 appearances.
Such exploits had since given rise to widespread interest in Martín’s signature, with a number of La Liga clubs understood to have made contact with the brass at the Wanda Metropolitano.
And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, one such outfit have beaten out the competition for the attacker’s signature.
As per a statement across their website and social media platforms, Deportivo Alavés have tied Martín down to loan terms for the campaign ahead:
‘Deportivo Alavés and Club Atlético de Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of striker Carlos Martín to the Alavés team for the current season.’
