Inter Milan must address an emerging defensive issue to bolster their chances of reclaiming the Scudetto this season.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s late lapses of concentration threaten to undermine their lofty aspirations.
Simone Inzaghi guided the Nerazzurri to a landmark 20th Serie A title last season, dominating the league in every aspect.
Defensively, Inter looked rock solid.
Indeed, they only conceded 22 goals en route to leaving runners-up AC Milan 19 points behind.
However, they’ve been prone to conceding cheap goals this term.
Inter have already let in 24 goals in Serie A.
Bringing other competitions into the equation, that number rises to 28.

However, 50% of those goals came after the 70th minute, with money directly costing Inter points.
For example, Francisco Conceicao’s 70th-minute strike condemned Inter to a 1-0 loss in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia.
Moreover, Inter’s only defeat in the Champions League saw Bayer Leverkusen net a 90th-minute winner.
Therefore, Inzaghi must find a cure for his side’s late collapses to prevent a downfall.
