Alan Virginius to join Young Boys despite Trabzonspor interest | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Alan Virginius (22) is set to join BSC Young Boys from Lille OSC on a permanent transfer after the two clubs finally reached an agreement.

It had looked as if the Turkish club, Trabzonspor, had swooped in and stolen the 22-year-old from Young Boys when they agreed to a €3.5m transfer for the winger (with a 30% resale fee). However, there has been a recent turnaround, with Lille accepting a lower offer of €2.5m from the Swiss club.

Last season, Virginius flourished on loan at the Wankdorf Stadium, finding the potential that had first attracted Lille’s attention in 2022 when he arrived from his training club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. The forward who can play across the front three made 45 appearances for Young Boys, scoring seven goals and assisting four.

It’s already been a busy summer for Les Dogues, who have confirmed the arrival of Olivier Giroud (38) at the start of this month.
