Manchester United continued their recent unbeaten streak with a goalless Premier League draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils dominated proceedings in the opening hour at Selhurst Park and could have been two or three goals ahead.

However, they lacked a cutting edge in the final third and ended up sharing the spoils.

Former Newcastle United star Alan Shearer was impressed with the team’s defensive performance and picked Diogo Dalot in his Premier League Team of the Week.

Shearer said: “He impressed as he inverted into midfield and defended well as Man Utd made it back-to-back clean sheets.”

Dalot has started from the left-back position since the start of the top-flight campaign after a pre-season injury sustained by Luke Shaw.

His league performances have been a mixed bag, but the 25-year-old won six duels and made eight ball recoveries against Palace.

The £29 million-rated star had 77 touches with a 91 percent passing accuracy. He created three chances and completed 100% of his dribbles.

The onus is now on him to deliver consistency, as he could lose his starting position when United’s injury worries ease.

Noussair Mazraoui has been a revelation from right-back since his debut last month and should keep his starting position.

Dalot must be error-proof over the forthcoming games to ensure Shaw does not replace him on his comeback.

The Portuguese is expected to start on Wednesday when United welcome Twente Enschede in the first league game of the Europa League.

The backline could stay unchanged, but there could be changes higher up the field.

Manuel Ugarte and Marcus Rashford could come into the starting XI ahead of Christian Eriksen and Amad Diallo.
