As Chivas prepare for their rivalry clash with Atlas this Saturday, Alan Mozo is urging his team-mates to shake off their recent slump.
Here is what the defender had to say during his pre-match press conference.
“The classics are games that have to be won, here the forms do not matter,” he said. “I have played many classics, they are the games that everyone wants to play and win.”
“We have to show that Chivas are in charge in Guadalajara and with that mentality, we will [fight] on Saturday.
“It’s a week where we work differently, we can’t give away spaces because [Atlas is] a capable rival, they have been doing well lately for a reason.
“The rivalry stays on the field, starting with us and then with the fans.”
To add even more pressure to the clash Chivas currently sit second from the bottom in the table, a position Mozo insisted is not good enough for the club’s standards.
“Regardless of whether we are in the last places, we know that we must win,” he said.
“Nobody in this club works to lose, we feel ashamed and we want to get out of this bad streak.
“Chivas should never be in the last places, we will come out of this stronger.”
“I feel sad, but at the same time very motivated.”
