Alaba: “We possess a real goal threat up top” | OneFootball

Real Madrid secured a place in the Champions League last 16 as group winners after seeing off Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu. David Alaba offered his thoughts at the full-time whistle: “We've really improved over the last few months. We didn't allow ourselves to become nervous and we always trusted in our quality and we showed that out there tonight. Although we didn't see that much of the bull, we know that we possess a real goal threat up top. We're really pleased with this win”.

“I try to help the team with my qualities. That's what they want from me and for me to be there. I try to work hard and really improve my game”.

Best defensive display? “We’ve now played quite a few games, but this one was a good performance, particularly in defensive terms. We were aware that Inter had a lot of quality and they would essentially have a lot of possession, but we didn't allow ourselves to become nervous and just focused on our jobs defensively and it all worked out really well”.

Carvajal: "We put in a great performance” “As a team, we head home with a job well done and we're really happy to have finished as group winners. We put in a great performance and overall, we deserved the win. It's now time for us to rest up and get ready for Sunday's game”. “The coach instructed us to wait in a mid-block for a while and when they looked to move forward, we should be aggressive. From Thibaut through to Jović, we were very compact and that was the key to the game”.

Rodrygo: “We played well and won the game”  “We head away with hugely positive feelings tonight. We won the game, played well and qualified as group winners. The coach just asked us to do what we’ve been doing in previous games, to be aggressive in attack and that’s what we did. We know things will get tougher from here on in but we have to keep doing things equally as well”.
