Real Madrid clashed heads with Barcelona at the Nou Camp earlier today as they hoped to grind out all three points on their travels. Los Blancos made a solid start to the game and managed to score the opener in the 32nd minute when David Alaba found the back of the Barca net with a powerful strike. The Madrid giants went into the half-time break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men defended well in the second half and killed the game off in the 93rd minute when Lucas Vazquez scored before Sergio Aguero netted a consolation goal in the dying embers of the game. The Clasico finished with Los Blancos securing a narrow 2-1 victory away at Catalonia.
Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the clash against the Catalans.
The Belgian custodian made just one save in the game but will be disappointed after losing his clean sheet right at the death.
Vazquez was defensively solid and was quite lively in the Catalans half. He doubled the Madrid outfit’s advantage in injury-time which proved essential towards his team winning the game.
The Brazilian centre-back cleared his lines when needed and pulled off one important interception during the game.
Alaba kept the Barca attackers quiet for most of the game and gave his side the lead midway through the first half.

He did what was required of him at the back and created one good chance in the final third.
Modric won the ball back quite a few times for his team and was quite effective with the ball at his feet.

Kroos got stuck in with a few solid tackles and made two good chances in the final third.
He engineered some decent openings for others around him and has got one assist to show for his efforts.
The Frenchman created two good chances for his teammates and made one good run with the ball in the final third.
The Brazilian winger completed quite a few encouraging dribbles with the ball but didn’t get too many sniffs at goal.
He offered very little after coming off the bench but had to go off the pitch in injury-time.
The Spaniard didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
He came on to replace Valverde.
