As reported by ESPN, Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are already exploring how they might extend new signing Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with the team despite only playing once so far for the side following his recent move.
Ronaldo’s current deal in the Saudi league lasts two and a half years and runs to the summer of 2025, by which time the Portuguese international will be 40-years-old. However, Al Nassr want to ensure Ronaldo finishes his career with the club, should he decided to extend his career beyond that date.
Having signed a deal worth over £160m per year at the Saudi side, Ronaldo’s experience is seen as a key asset by the team’s directors who want the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player to help install a set of ‘best practices’ to help the club become a footballing powerhouse in Asia.
Ronaldo made his competitive debut for Al Nassr this week, helping his team to a 1-0 win over Ettifaq without scoring.
