Reports in Italy claim that Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have not given up on their pursuit of Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, who has already turned down a lucrative offer to move to the Middle East.

Al-Hilal, now under the guidance of former Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi, saw a €35m offer for Theo Hernandez fall through after the player decided against moving to the Saudi Pro League, despite a reported contract offer of around €18m per season.

Since then, Theo has been in talks with Atletico Madrid, and while personal terms were not an issue in this instance, there was no agreement on a fee between Atleti and Milan.

There have since been suggestions of a possible swap deal between Milan and Juventus for Theo and Dusan Vlahovic, both of whom are valued in the region of €30m with a year remaining on both of their current contracts.

Al-Hilal return to negotiating table for Milan’s Theo Hernandez

However, reports from Sky Sport Italia claim that Al-Hilal will attempt to return to the negotiating table with the Rossoneri.

Wednesday’s report claims that representatives from Al-Hilal have travelled to Italy to meet with the relevant parties in Milan to try and push forwards with a deal.

Al-Hilal had already met Milan’s demands for Theo with their previous €35m offer, but the bigger issue is convincing Theo to accept the move, which Sky indicates will not be particularly straightforward.
