Al-Hilal have submitted an improved proposal to Fulham as they look to wrap up a deal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Saudi Pro League club have tabled a new bid worth £43 million for the Serbian striker (The Sun).
Al Hilal have been keen to sign Mitrovic this summer and have already seen a £35m bid rejected by Fulham, who are reluctant to part ways with their headline performer.
However, the former Newcastle United man wants to make the move and had previously embarked on a strike to force the transfer, with Al-Hilal offering a bumper £360,000 per week salary.
The 28-year-old had his head turned by the mega-money offer but has rejoined Marco Silva’s side and played a part in their 1-0 victory over Everton last weekend.
Mitrovic replaced Fulham’s new signing and his possible replacement Raul Jimenez in the second half of the Premier League opener.
There were also concerns that he picked up an injury in the Goodison Park showdown after leaving the stadium on crutches.
However, the Serbia international reportedly informed his suitors that there was no serious damage done that could jeopardise the transfer.
It remains to be seen how Fulham will react to Al-Hilal’s latest bid after quoting a stunning £52m earlier this summer in a bid to ward off interest in Mitrovic.
The Cottagers are also eyeing a move for Sevilla right back Gonzalo Montiel.
The Europa League giants are planning a squad overhaul and could be open to doing a deal for the Argentine defender.
Montiel helped his country to the World Cup title in Qatar, slotting home the decisive spot kick. He is valued at €12m by Transfermarkt.
The 26-year-old joined Sevilla two years ago from River Plate and has racked up 71 appearances for the club.
He has contributed two goals and six assists in that span and was part of Jose Luis Mendilibar’s squad that won the Europa League title last season.
Fulham have also shortlisted Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne who is attracting interest from Juventus.
