Al Hilal became the first club to reach the final of this year's Club World Cup. The Saudi Arabian side, who are participating in the tournament as the Asian Champions League finalists, booked their place in the final following a 3-2 win over Brazilian side Flamengo. Al Hilal grabbed an early lead through Al Dawsari's penalty in the 4th minute, but Pedro pulled the Brazilians level on 20’.

In first-half stoppage time, Al Hilal retook the lead, courtesy of another spot-kick from Al Dawsari. Gerson was sent off as a result of the penalty, reducing Flamengo to ten men. In the 70th minute they made it 1-3 thanks to former Atletico and Villarreal player Vietto. Flamengo reduced the deficit in the 91st minute through Pedro. The win means that Al Hilal have booked their place in Saturday's final (8pm CET) against the winners of the match between Real Madrid and Al Ahly (Wednesday, 8pm CET).
