We have so much time for Adebayo Akinfenwa. The 38-year-old lower league journeyman is finally heading to the Championship and he wants everyone to know it.

Everyone. But he only wants Jürgen Klopp to talk to him about it.

Four years ago, having scored from the penalty spot to win promotion from League Two with Wimbledon, Akinfenwa was out of contract.

“It’s a beautiful feeling,” he told Sky Sports right after the final whistle.

“But sidebar, I think I’m technically unemployed. So any managers out there, hit me up on the WhatsApp and give me a job.”

This time around, the Wycombe Wanderers hero is heading to the Championship and there’s only one manager he’s interested in talking to.

And in typical fashion, Jürgen Klopp delivered on Akinfenwa’s only wish.

Akinfenwa to Liverpool? Maybe not. But we’d love to see it.
