But it was  Akgün's spectacular opener, struck expertly from 25 yards into the top corner, in the thrilling 3-2 group stage win over Tottenham that cinched the award for the fans' best goal in the competition.

The Turkish midfielder put in some stellar European performances last season and scored five goals in the Europa League.
